Great product for internet based music January 8, 2009 The Logitech Squeezebox Duet is a good way to discover the universe of internet based music. This delivery system is in its infancy and this product is an inexpensive way to explore.
The system could use some refinement as a person not tech savy might find it difficult at first. Logitech has excellent support so with some patience any initial difficulties should be easily overcome.
For the price it can't be beat.
First class product January 6, 2009 Since I live in the "boonies", I was unable to demo it and counted on reviews to decide it buy it. I had a hodge-podge of music sources in the house (with the obligitory remotes !), but now I just have this very small and elegant product :) All our music has been digitized (FLAC and high-bit rate mp3) and can be accessed through many different ways (artist, genre, title, playlists ...) via the remote.
It streams flawlessly and combined with a pair of AudioEngine2 speakers ([...]) provides an audiophile experience that has to be heard to be believed. The provision of Album art during playback is a nice touch :)
The internet radio capability and function is excellent, and I only regret that I am unable to get Rhapsody service in Canada to complete the package.
My only complaint, and it is really only a minor one, is the complete lack of documentation. No problem if you are used to going to the net for info though.
If my parents were still alive, I would have no hesitation in installing one of these for them ... it is that user friendly and elegant!
  What a product ! January 6, 2009 What a concept! What a product!
Goods: * Great intuitive design * Sleek looks * Easy operation * Good WAF/GAF * Good quality music. Room for better for some with digital out and external DAC etc etc. * Overwhelms you everyday with what it can do. * Hardware way ahead of software currently. So with every firmware release they make use of one more thing in that awesome h/w list. * Crazy plugins
Bads: * Some level of tech expertise required to setup. * Squeezecenter server that needs to be running all the time if you want to listen to your own music. * Battery life of the controller is not very impressive
Conclusion : It will change the way you'll listen to music or at least it did that to me. Highly recommended.
Couldn't ask for anything better.... January 1, 2009 Wow. I was first amazed by how well this product 'felt'. The charging station is heavy and does not feel like other cheaply made plastic products. I had everything up and running and streaming music within 15 mins of opening the box. The worst part of setup was entering my WEP key for my wireless network. Other than that, setup was a breeze.
I mainly use this for Pandora and the integration is awesome. I can't believe I had doubts on getting this.
Duets Scores big in this house December 31, 2008 Had been contemplating the purchase of Squeezebox or Sonos type music server for quite a while. Had actually used the regular Squeezebox on several occasions. I was a little intimidated that getting it up and running would be tricky. It wasn't, took maybe 20 minutes and has worked nearly flawlessly for the month or so since. The only glitch wasn't really a glitch, just needed to rescan the music library after the software and firmware updated recently. Easy to use and works great. Planning on adding another reciever on a different system in the house at some point. Really beats needing to look for CDs.
