| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description The Star Station lets kids turn any television into an instant hit show by putting the power of performance right into their hands. Using Plug 'N Play technology, this hardware unit plugs right into the TV. Kids can access the music library to choose from over 75 Kidz Bop songs -- songs sung by kids, for kids. (Kidz Bop is the most popular and recognized music product in the US for kids aged 4-11.) There are four songs built into the hardware unit and there is a library of nine additional ROM packs, each containing eight songs. The Additional ROMs make it easy for kids to quickly and easily change the music and the theme of their show.A wireless microphone puts no limits on the action and lets kids choose from and control five different camera lenses: Regular, Waves, Kaleidoscope, Red Kaleidoscope and Triple Vision. And from a button on the mic, little performers can change and rotate the lenses for amazing on-screen effects. Requires three "AAA" and six "C" batteries (not included).

Great Idea...Poor Product December 25, 2008 Both our kids love watching home videos of themselves and they also recently started to sing their favorite songs using home made mics, so we came across this toy at a local box store and thought it would be the perfect Santa gift! It's very easy to plug in and start using, but with fresh batteries one of the mics stopped working in under 20 seconds. It also gives off a horrible buzz in the speakers...and you have to have the volume turned all the way up on the base station for the music to be heard. Also...with HDTV being the standard these days, why market a product that has less than great "standard def" quality? That doesn't make any sense. With toys like the Wii and X-box, this toy is very sub-standard! A complete waste of $50.00! Do NOT waste your money!!
Fisher Price Star Station Entertainment System November 11, 2008 This is a fun system. Your kids will be dancing and singing all day long. Highly recommended.
Please don't waste your money October 7, 2008 My daughter got this toy as a gift for her fourth birthday. She played with it once and has never touched it again. What I dislike most about this toy is that you have to buy batteries for it. It has to be connected to the television set why not make an AC adapter as well for it???? The music is also age inappropriate. It's just a total waste of money.
I am satisfied with this gift but probably wouldn't buy it myself January 21, 2008 My 17 month old and four year old received this for Christmas. My 17 month old loves it. She loves to dance and always wants to play with it. It is worth having just to see her play with it. My son isn't as interested and it doesn't hold his attention for long. The picture quality is fine. I don't expect movie quality in a kids toy. There are two big negatives to this toy though:
One it doesn't come with a power cord. I spent a long time looking for the cord thinking I must have misplaced it. I am surprised that Fisher-Price did not include a cord especially at this price point. I solved the problem by using rechargeable batteries.
Two the cartridge that comes with it is pretty bad. They have included pop mixes of regular kids songs. The kids don't recognize them and that doesn't help keep their attention. We get around this by using another source for music.
In summary I love it for my 17 month old daughter but she is way outside the age range. Video and audio quality are fine. The cartridge is disappointing and battery only operation is annoying. Someone in another review suggested using a video camera hooked to a TV to achieve the same result. I guess with all of the work a-rounds that would be just as good of an option.
Great fun for the whole family January 21, 2008 This toy has been a big hit with our whole family. We have a lot of fun passing the mike around making each other laugh. We do our best lounge singer impersonations and the kids don't laugh at all. That makes it even more hilarious for the adults. All in all, money well spent...
