5 out of 5 stars Must defend this item...   September 23, 2008
I have to come to this items defense! I bought mine at Walmart about five months ago and ours has been operating splendidly!

I bought mine just as a simple and cheap portable item to carry around my house and garage to listen to audiobooks, podcasts, and my music. All three types of audio sound just fine. As one person wrote it isn't bose quality by any means. I simply didn't want to always wear my headphones as I worked around my house and this little bugger hasn't disappointed me.

For the price (I paid $45 or so I think) this item has been great! The only little bad thing I could think of mentioning is when it's docked into this station I have to hold the ipod with one hand and use the circular control with my other hand.

I'm actually on Amazon to purchase another one as my wife has usurped mine! Now we need two!

2 out of 5 stars Like a bad boyfriend!   June 1, 2008
This system worked fine for what I needed to begin with when I bought it last year. Charging and a little music while we were camping. My grandson was charging his iPod and listening to the music last night and the dang thing started smoking through the vents in the back with a stinky electrical burn smell!!! Very scary to both of us! We immediately unplugged the system and removed the iPod. Just like the guy/gal who's great to begin with until you get to know him a little better. Going back to the store and will report for a recall!! Could have been very dangerous if we hadn't been right at the system!! BEWARE - DANGEROUS!!

1 out of 5 stars Can I give this less than one star?   February 8, 2008
Steer very clear of this product. i was looking for a decent radio/ipod system for my office and the price for this one seemed right. Its a complete piece of junk. The sound is just terrible, there is no support behind the ipod (mine is a 2nd gen nano) so you couldn't change songs or go into the menu without fearing you were going to break it. With the radio on, the display changed from clock to the radio frequency you were listening to... thats right, the makers thought maybe you would need to check which station you were **listening to** more than the time. This thing really is bad, I returned it immediately and got a Sony ICF-C1iP instead, which I love and recommend, even though it's twice the price. Steer clear.

4 out of 5 stars Great for the Price   November 26, 2007
I've had this for about a week now and I have to say that I'm pleased. I knew when I bought this for under fifty dollars that this wasn't going to be symphonic quality sound. It sounds good, and that is what I was willing to pay for right now. It's good looking, easy to use, and plays my music and podcasts. I'm happy for now. When I can afford the Bose system, then I'll trully be happy :-)

1 out of 5 stars Awful doesn't even begin ...   September 26, 2007

to describe this China reject. This is a product you typically find exported to third countries - not the US. All the reviews on this site were correct - stay away! (Apple - you really shouldn't let them put your logo on this product!)
