Emerson Music System December 30, 2008 Love the product!
What I like most is that it has a HeadPhone Jack (which most others don't have) which I can plug into my computer (in-line) port and capture Vinyl, CD and Cassette music to convert to MP3 format.
It works great! The sound quality is what I expect from both cassette and vinyl.
I use my computer CD player to capture CD's for better quality, but it would work if it's all you have.
Emerson Heritage 4 in 1 music system October 23, 2008 I am completly satisisfied with this product.Especially it's great price for an item that looks and sounds very reasonable considering its size and the choice of a platter deck,cd,tape and nice sounding radio.and they all work well.Shipping was right on time and packed well.
Not great sound quality, but unbelievably bad service when broken. August 6, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I've had this turntable for 2 years. The sound quality is not great, but overall it did what it was suppose to do. Recently, the sound from the turntable/phonograph was lethargic and slow, so I ordered a new belt. Finding the belt online took forever because there is no information in the manual about replacement belts. There is also no information (or diagram) about how to replace the belt once you've ordered a new belt. I contacted Emerson, who (after holding for 12 minutes) transfered me to a different department. I asked for a diagram to help me put the new belt on and the guy acted like I was an idiot because I didn't know the diagram was in the "serivce manual" (which is seperate from the owner's manual and not included with purchase). He then told me to call third party company to obtain the service manual. The third party company did not answer their phone and the serivce manual was not available for download off their website. Not to mention...they expect me to pay for the manual. Shouldn't replacement parts and general upkeep be included in the owner's manual?
Worst service ever, will no longer buy Emerson products, and am considering just buying a new phonograph. Please save youself the hassle and do not buy this product.
Don't buy this. February 16, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
To anyone thinking of buying this as a gift for a teenager/young adult- DO NOT BUY. Myself an three of my friends have receive this as a gift, and it is not a good one. Unless you plug it in via the headphone jack to a good stereo or computer speakers, the sound for the record player is awful. No bass, tinny sound. The turntable is automatic, meaning it picks up at the "end" of a record and brings the stylus back "home", but it picks it up before all of my 7" (45) records are done playing. It has a cheap needle that literally skips around the record- it leaves little marks on the vinyl and makes listening to records a chore and unenjoyable.
This might be okay for someone who just wants to take a trip down memory lane with some of their old vinyl, but it is not a good purchase for someone who wants to listen to new records which have good sound quality. Thanks for nothing, Emerson.
Great Lil stereo to play my records January 6, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I love this it plays my cds, records.cassettes, and a bonus am/fm tuner as well.I have been using it to transfer all my records to my pc .It works great just plug in the headphone line to your sound card, some software I found on download. I get all my songs I missed in MP#3 format. I Love it.I think for the price it sounds just fine all around records, tapes ect.If you want to listen to or upload music this is the biggest bang for your buck and you can edit how the music sounds on the pc. I tried a few of them and this one was the keeper!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-)
