Advantages: This highest quality 6-outlet provides more protection from EMI/RFI interference than standard 6-outlets. It costs more, but it's necessary engineering that protects computer, stereo, and electronic equipment and gives you peace of mind. It has the extra circuitry (brain) required to monitor the flow of energy coming through. In this respect, yes, other, standard outlets cost $1.50 but are brainless and offer no protection, just convenience.
Disadvantages: does not include child protective covers. Recommended for indoor use only.
