Product Description The Matrox G450 chip builds upon the success of the Matrox G400 Series by integrating a digital flat panel transmitter, TV-out encoder, second RAMDAC and 64-bit Double Data Rate (DDR) memory interface on a single chip. All this, plus ultra-sharp images and vibrant color quality for 2D/3D/DVD business and entertainment applications makes the Matrox G450 the most fully integrated, full-featured discrete graphics chip on the market today.Revolutionary DualHead features, pioneered by Matrox, are the crowning glory of all the Matrox G450 has to offer. This state-of-the-art display technology allows you to double your desktop with nine possible configurations of VGA, analog or digital flat panel, and TV display devices. Versatility is enhanced even further by the integration of a Transmission-Minimized Differential Signaling (TMDS) transmitter that outputs to DVI-based digital flat panel monitors. The ability to power multiple displays with a single graphics chip makes the Matrox G450 a cost-effective way to dramatically increase your productivity in the workplace. Doubling your desktop means you spend less time switching between applications and more time actually working.

Not quite the real thing... September 24, 2002 18 out of 18 found this review helpful
This is an OEM version of the Matrox G450 AGP card, and is actually manufactured by Compaq, under agreement with Matrox. It's primary use is as a good, fast, 2D display card for people who need business graphics. It cannot compare to _any_ of the fast 3D cards available today, so gamers should rule this card out. Further, for home use, the OEM version of the card does not support TV-output, nor does it include the required cable that would allow the user to send DVD output to a television. The only standout features of this card are it's ability to display razor-sharp 2D graphics. Matrox is known for their high quality video output, and this card is one of their best in that regard. The card would shine when used with a video projection unit, for displaying the screen output for training sessions, or sales presentations. Most Matrox cards are also very reliable, and should stay working for many years.
