    About Coleman
The Coleman Company has been creating and innovating products for recreational outdoor use since W.C. Coleman started selling gasoline-powered lanterns in 1900. Inventor of the hugely popular fold-up camp stove, Coleman developed a plastic liner for his galvanized steel coolers in 1957--the birth of the modern cooler--and the company has been improving their utility and design ever since. The array of products that bear the Coleman name now includes just about everything you might need to work or play outdoors, from tents and sleeping bags to boats, backpacks, and furniture.

5 out of 5 stars cast iron grill   November 24, 2008
Coleman road trip grill offers cast iron grill option for outdoor grilling. An excellent feature for steaks or your favorite entre.
Cleans up easy. Heavy duty..made to last.Highly recommend this upgrade to the standard aluminum grill that comes with Coleman Roadtrip.

4 out of 5 stars Far Superior to the Original Equipment   August 20, 2008
The original equipment is way too light to handle any kind of decent grilling.

The cast iron holds heat well and puts a far superior sear on anything you cook on it.

5 out of 5 stars Better the cast aluminum   August 4, 2008
Is is a heavy porcelain coated grate that looks and functions like the Teflon grate that comes with the grill. We wanted to be able to grill meat on both ends of the grill. It is heavier than the aluminum grate and seems much more durable. Won't have to worry about the Teflon flaking off and getting into our food like I expect the aluminum grate to do eventually.

If this or the aluminum grate ever start flaking off their coatings then I'll sandblast them both and keep on using them.

5 out of 5 stars Love them!   June 28, 2008
We purchased 2 of the Coleman Cast Iron Grill grates & we love them. They are easy to clean, unlike the original grates we had that were made of Cast Aluminum. We use our grill all the time & wish we had these from the beginning. I would recommend to everyone who loves to grill!

5 out of 5 stars No non-stick coating in my food!!   May 15, 2008
I had the aluminum non-stick grill grate, and I hated that the non-stick coating was continuously peeling off. Even if I used plastic utensils, just being in the Road Trip Grill carrying bag caused enough rubbing together for the coating to come off. Then, once it starts peeling, there is no stopping it. The cast iron grill grate cooks evenly and cleans up without too much scrubbing. It is harder to clean than the non-stick, but worth it not to eat the coating.
