i had purchased one of these cd holders a few years ago and wanted one to match for certain cds. i have many types of holders but wanted one that would stand out for oldies and 50/60s music. i went back to the store and of course they no longer carried this model so i went on line and found them for sale. This holder is great! better then cheaper ones i have gotten and holds more cds as well. the design is fantastic for oldies and it sure catches the eye!

I'm at both ends of the "CD wallet" spectrum. Years ago I made the switch by purchasing the biggest CD folder manufactured by Case Logic and proceeded to discard my jewel cases (salvaging of course all liner notes, cards, etc., to add as much creativity to the relatively simplified format) as I organized and stuffed it to the gills. Years later I've filled two and am now on my third folder (same, largest size) by Case Logic, during which time their engineers were hard at work improving the design. Meanwhile I also bought their smallest wallet for the times I select discs to venture w/ outside the confines of home (that's the rule if you too switch to the folders versus jewel cases -- you can't allow the folder to leave your walls b/c it's now a concentrated and easily targeted piece of yourself that must be protected). That said, my little CD wallet that I took everywhere travelled the continent from coast to coast, acquiring character in the process, from cigarette burns, accumulated candle wax, dirt, stickers, tears, and various abuse along those lines, until it came time for a new one. To switch things up in 2002 I went w/ a different brand even though I've had nothing but an excellent experience w/ Case Logic (at one point one began falling apart so I sent it to Case Logic w/ a letter, and to my delight I found on my step the following week a brand new one -- mailed U.S. Priority at their expense -- that was even bigger w/ the improved binding design). I'm illustrating my commitment to the folder/wallet format and the punishment it endures by my usage. As a criticism I've heard that the continuous slipping in and out of the disks from their sleeves, especially when they get dirty, tends to scratch the disks more so than keeping them in their original jewel cases, but I've found this to be untrue for the most part. OK, well maybe there's some truth to it, but still not nearly as much damage is caused by this than by general lack of care, allowing them to pile upon one another. The CdProjects sleeve has a patented baby-bubble technology that addresses this tendency to scratch and seems to limit the wear and tear from constant removing and replacing disks from the wallet, which is a design that Case Logic should address. The CdProjects sleeves are removable as well as replaceable, which I've taken advantage of when giving homemade disks away. I've experienced no problems w/ the sleeve's plastic binding becoming stripped and falling out (as noted by another review). The graphic designs by CdProjects are cool, in a trendy variety including zebra, tiger or black patent pleather w/ fire; the latter is the one I chose and still enjoy seeing as something different from the plain black fabric of Case Logic. Considering the amount of clutter involved w/ a large CD collection still in its respective jewel cases, the folder/wallet system simplified my life, which is something I'm always in favor of.
